Tim Heinemann and Porsche slowed down by BoP
The championship leader and Porsche will need to pack more weight into the car this weekend after the BoP adjustment and it’s already showing. The best Porsche driver in qualifying was Thomas Preining. Tim Heinemann couldn’t get past 22nd place and it should be difficult to move up the field today.

Maro Engel on pole
After Maro Engel was the fastest driver in practice on Friday, the Mercedes driver was unbeatable in qualifying as well. He lapped the course in the Dutch dunes in 1:32.585 minutes and was therefore slightly faster than Sheldon van der Linde in the BMW. The second row consists of Marco Wittmann and Franck Perera. Albert Costa Balboa and Mirko Bortolotti are on the third row of the grid.

The distance
For the first time since 2018, the DTM is back at Zandvoort this weekend. A lot has happened on the route since the last visit. The characteristic corners, including spectacular banked corners, crests and bumps, represent a demanding challenge that requires full concentration from the drivers on the 4.259-kilometer circuit. In addition, they have to deal with the dune sand that is constantly being blown onto the road.
