He converted the early deficit (12th) into a lead through the goals of Sessegnon (21st) and Diers (31st) before going into the cabin. After the break, a double strike consisting of an opponent’s own goal (61st) and a goal by Kulusevski (63rd) brought the final decision.

Chelsea FC made a successful start to the new Premier League season by beating Everton FC 1-0. The Blues created few clear-cut chances in a poor match, and a penalty won by Chilwell and converted by Jorginho deep in first-half injury time made the difference in the Blues’ favour. They prevented an early loss of points, but will still have to find each other in the coming weeks in order to be able to play in the hoped-for table regions.
