Djokovic is through
Novak Djokovic beat Jannik Sinner 6: 3, 6: 4 and 7: 6 and entered his ninth Wimbledon final. It will still be a few minutes before Alcaraz and Medvedev can enter Center Court, so it is likely to start around 5:45 p.m.

Medvedev with best performance
On the other hand, Daniil Medvedev is also a debutant in the Wimbledon semifinals. In his last appearance in 2021, the Russian made it to the round of 16, where he lost out to Hubert Hurkacz. In 2022 the players from Russia were excluded from the tournament. The 27-year-old went through the tournament without any problems in the first round and benefited from Jiri Lehecka’s resignation in the round of 16. He needed the energy he saved there immediately in the quarter-finals. Christopher Eubanks played an outstanding tournament and challenged Medvedev over the full distance. After winning the tie-break in the fourth set, the former US Open champion finally played his way into Eubanks’ head, so that a smooth 6-1 win in the fifth set meant moving into the next round.

First semi-final for Alcaraz
It has become the semifinals, which many have wished for. With Carlos Alcaraz, the number one in the world meets Daniil Medvedev, the current third in the world rankings. The now 20-year-old Spaniard can look back on an impressive tournament. He never had to go the full distance and only dropped two sets en route to the semifinals. One went to Nicolas Jarry in the third round, the other to Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16. Even Holger Rune had nothing to report against one of his main competitors in the quarter-finals. Last year, Alcaraz lost out to Jannik Sinner in the round of 16. This makes it the first semi-final on Church Road for the world number one.
