Who will win the race?
The two opponents met twice this year and the Spaniard was ahead in both duels: In Madrid, Alcaraz clearly won the Masters 6:1, 6:2 – but Zverev was not yet at his old strength at that point found his way back and was therefore only able to offer little resistance to the youngster. The game was already more even in the quarterfinals of the US Open, but Alcaraz prevailed against the German in three sets. Overall, the Head-2-Head is still balanced, as both players were able to win three matches each.

Zverev is a two-time champion
Alexander Zverev is back in Turin and has achieved his goal for the season! He achieved great results in 2022, but was famously slowed down by his foot injury. In January this year, the German started his comeback and increased his performance. Zverev again reached the semi-finals at the French Open and thus defended important points in the world rankings. A fairly early exit followed at Wimbledon, but things went even better for a few weeks at the US Open, where they made it to the quarter-finals. The Hamburger played many tournaments this year and was able to win point after point, so that he will be number seven in the world in Turin. Zverev has good memories of the finals, because in 2018 and 2021 he lifted the trophy at the end, putting him a little ahead of his current opponent.

Alcaraz makes its debut in Turin
The young Spaniard also qualified for last year’s edition of the finals, but had to pull out due to injury and is making his debut at this prestigious tournament this year. Carlos Alcaraz’s abilities are widely known: the 20-year-old is characterized by a lot of power, full commitment and a lot of fun in the game. The highlight of his season was certainly his success at Wimbledon, where he defeated his competitor Djokovic in the final.
