Today’s game takes place in Norwich, in the east of England. Already on Thursday in Middlesbrough one would have wished for a higher number of spectators, even today only around 250 people are expected.

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg takes the warm-up character of the game seriously and throws the starting XI through to give other players a chance. Ann-Katrin Berger is protecting the box today instead of Merle Frohms, who was extremely strong three days ago, and goal scorer Lea Schüller also has to look on.

Compensator Lea Schüller was sober after the game against Spain that it felt like “defending for 90 minutes”. Today, the German camp expects more ball possession, but the Canadians should not be underestimated as reigning Olympic champions. Schüller said of the North Americans’ 1-1 draw against England: “We looked at it and it was obvious that they have fast players”.

Since the previous four group games all ended in a draw, the outcome is still completely open. Germany made the late equalizer against Spain three days ago through Lea Schüller. Canada also drew 1-1 on Matchday 1, with Manchester City’s Janine Beckie leveling England’s half-time lead.

The Arnold Clark Cup, named after a Scottish car dealer, will be held for the first time this year. At least three more events are planned – the contract that Arnold Clark negotiated with the FA is scheduled for four years. Germany, England and Spain will use the tournament to prepare for the European Championships in the summer. The Canadians prepare for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The format of the friendly tournament is simple: hosts England, Germany, Spain and Canada play each group opponent once in a group of four. If two teams end up with the same number of points, the goal difference decides who wins the group.

Have a nice evening and welcome to the second game of the German women’s national team at the Arnold Clark Cup! Kick-off against Canada is at 21:15.
