Borussia Dortmund II deservedly leads 1-0 at the break against MSV Duisburg. And there could have been a better lead if the BVB youngsters had made better use of their numerous top opportunities. The Zebras repeatedly let Dortmund storm in front of their own goal through simple positional or passing errors and were lucky that their keeper Müller was also having a good day today. BVB dominated the game for long stretches of the first half, while Duisburg mostly lurked on the counterattack.

After two narrow victories in a row against Viktoria Köln and last weekend against SC Verl, the trend for coach Jan Zimmermann’s team is clearly upwards again. They were very lucky, especially against Verler, because the striker Mittelstädt, who had replaced the injured goalkeeper Unbehaun, was unable to hold on to the ball and Justin Butler was able to score the lucky punch in stoppage time to make it 3-2.
