Mega opportunity for wind! The Dane accepts a low pass from the wing on the left side of the penalty area. His left-footed shot from eleven meters whizzed just past the far corner – the ball even touched the post. At the following corner, Wind maneuvers him with his shoulder into the arms of Nicolas.

9:39 p.m
The opposing side. This time wind gets way too much space. From 21 meters in the middle he hits the ball just to the right of it.

9:39 p.m
And that’s where it gets dangerous too! The ball flies to Net’s feet, whose left-footed shot from 22 meters from a half-left position whizzes past to the right.

As a result of a long ball, Čvančara only has Wiese in front of him in the opponent’s half. However, Bornauw sprints back and saves for a corner at the last second.

In the first few minutes after the break, the Autostädters got off to a better start. But the last pass is often still missing.

Half-time conclusion:
Break in Gladbach, Borussia is not undeservedly leading 2-0 against VfL Wolfsburg. In the first 15 minutes almost nothing happened on either side – but the North Germans made the better impression. Almost out of nowhere, it was Čvančara who rewarded the home team’s first successful offensive move with a 1-0 lead. As a result, the Seoane team grew stronger and had some good chances. As halftime approached, Casteels made a bad pass into Reitz’s feet. The 21-year-old didn’t take long to make it 2-0 after a quick hook. The matter is not over yet, but VfL urgently needs to develop more effectiveness. See you soon!

After Honorat’s cross from the right was actually too wide, Čvančara made the turn sharp again. Netz’s attempt from the five-pointer is just blocked.

9:12 p.m
Great for Bor. Mönchengladbach, 2-0 by Rocco Reitz
And the goal kick makes it 2-0! Casteels produces a major bad pass into Reitz’s feet. The midfielder anticipates strongly, runs straight into the box and makes a clever hook. He finally slots effortlessly into the left corner from eleven meters.
41′
9:11 p.m
Pléa finds the left-handed net from the center. Instead of immediately seeking a conclusion, the ex-Herthan player delayed for too long. He plays the ball to Pléa again, but he misses it on the five-pointer. Goal kick.
38′
9:08 p.m
Good opportunity for Borussia! Net passes flat from the left half-space towards the six-yard box. Čvančara storms up, but only hits the ball with the tip of his foot. So he doesn’t get enough pressure behind it – and Casteels clears up the situation.
36′
9:06 p.m
Not a bad attempt from Lower Saxony. Wind comes from 18 meters from half left, powerful and flat with the left foot. The pill sails around two meters past the short corner.

9:03 p.m
Yellow card for Maximilian Arnold (VfL Wolfsburg)
Arnold Pléa knocks down the ball in midfield. Yellow for him.

9:02 p.m
The hosts let the ball run through their own ranks. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, is just running behind.
29′
8:59 p.m
Yellow card for Nico Elvedi (Bor. Mönchengladbach)
Elvedi comes too late in midfield against Tomás. The defender sees the yellow box probably because of the tactical factor.

8:59 p.m
Half an hour is almost over. The foals subsequently earned the lead. At the moment they seem to have everything under control.

…Arnold’s touchdown was only defused by Nicolas when he followed up.

20:56
The guests work out an interesting free kick position 23 meters half-right in front of the box…
22′
20:53
Since the goal, Borussia have taken pleasure in letting off steam offensively. Pléa in particular keeps pushing.
19′
8:50 p.m
Wild scene in the Wolfsburg penalty area! Reitz takes a strong Honorat pass to the left on the edge of the box. He immediately moves forward, where he passes across the middle to Čvančara. The goalscorer of the 1-0th keeps his foot in, Bornauw then defends with his hand. Instead of a penalty, however, there was a correct offside decision – Reitz started too early.
18′
8:48 p.m
Casteels! Pleá pulls in from the left and flicks the ball wonderfully to the far corner. But Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper takes a long stretch and parries with one hand. Excellently held.
16′
8:46 p.m
Tooor for Bor. Mönchengladbach, 1-0 by Tomáš Čvančara
60 seconds later the place is upside down! The marble passes from the center to Honorat on the right via Koné and Scally. The 27-year-old combines brilliantly with a one-two with Pléa to the baseline, from where he delivers a sharp, flat cross to the inside. Čvančara runs in perfectly and pushes the ball into the net from five meters.
15′
8:45 p.m
Finally something that wakes up the audience. Koné devours two opponents and passes briefly to Pléa in the left half-space. The Frenchman has his head up, but cannot find a teammate with his cross.
14′
8:44 p.m
The first quarter of an hour is coming to an end. So far we have seen a rather slow game with few goal area scenes. Gladbach in particular is having a hard time.
11′
20:41
The home team also gets involved in the final third. However, the ball is lost after a cross from the net.

8:39 p.m
Striking: The Kovač team dominates at the beginning. With a lot of possession, she pushes the action far into the opponent’s half.
5′
8:35 p.m
The first degree belongs to the guests. Kamiński receives the ball on the left side of the sixteen-yard box and hits a short hook inside. Nicolas is there to counter the low right-footed shot from ten meters.
4′
8:33 p.m
Quiet start in Gladbach. Both VfLs don’t start the game with too much pace.
20:11
On the other hand, the people of Autostadt are trying to achieve a turnaround today. Most recently there were three bankruptcies, a three-pointer in the cup against RB Leipzig (1-0) and a point split against SV Werder Bremen (2-2). They have now been waiting for a win in four games in the league. With a total of 13 points, they are three ahead of Gladbach, but also five behind sixth-placed TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. An away win today would put a lot of pressure on the competition.
19:52
The form curve is not steep, but it is pointing upwards bit by bit for the team from the Lower Rhine. There were three wins and two draws from the last six competitive games, including the two consecutive wins against 1. FC Heidenheim in the league (2:1) and in the DFB Cup (3:1). There was also something countable at SC Freiburg last weekend – but only one point. Despite a 3-1 lead, Borussia had to live with a draw (3-3). This currently results in a mediocre eleventh place in the ranking.
7:31 p.m
Hello and welcome to the eleventh matchday of the Bundesliga! Today it’s: Foals against Wolves, Gladbach against Wolfsburg. Kick-off at Borussia Park is at 8:30 p.m.
