The ball bounces in the net! After an Elche goal kick, Pedri unluckily plays the ball from midfield into Fidel’s path. He moves half-left into the penalty area and nets a low shot into the right corner of the goal. The stadium is upside down!

At the moment the encounter doesn’t have too much to offer. The ball rolls through the ranks of Barca. Elche is compact on the defensive and allows little. There are therefore no noteworthy scoring chances to report.

The ball rolls! Which team gets the better start?
15:44
FC Barcelona is now unbeaten in ten games. In the last four matches it was a goal-rich thing. The Xavi team scored four goals each against Atlético Madrid, Valencia CF and Athletic Bilbao. In addition, the derby against Espanyol Barcelona ended 2-2. There are three changes compared to the Bilbao game. Jordi Alba, Frenkie de Jong and Ousmane Dembélé are on the pitch for Sergiño Dest, Adama Traoré and Ferrán Torres (all bench).
15:35
In January, the home side were unbeaten with two wins and two draws. February was rather less successful with two defeats and one win. Most recently, Francisco’s side went down 3-0 at Levante UD. The team line-up will change in three positions: Bigas (injury), Gumbau (red suspension) and Guido Carrillo (bench) will be replaced by Diego González, Raúl Guti and Fidel.
15:26
The favorite role clearly goes to FC Barcelona. Although the Catalans’ season is by no means going according to plan, FCB is right in the middle of the fight for the Champions League. With 45 points, Xavi’s team is in 4th place, tied with Atlético Madrid. It’s just a point behind third-placed Real Betis. Also, Barca have played one game less than the competition. The hosts, on the other hand, are struggling not to slip deeper into the relegation battle. Elche is currently seven points ahead of the relegation zone.
