According to Putin, there are “unfounded accusations” that Russia is trying to develop weapons to be deployed from space.
He refers to allegations from the US that Russia wants to develop a nuclear weapon that can be launched from space and could disable satellites. “That’s just a lie to make us look bad. And you have to remember that for the past 15 years we have been proposing to curb the use of nuclear weapons. We have every possible reason to argue that the whole question of our pursuit of strategic hegemony is nothing but an illusion.”
