The ceremony was preceded by quite a few controversies. In order to boost the viewing figures, the organization decided from now on to no longer award the eight ‘less important’ Oscars, such as for short film, editing, camera work and music, during the live broadcast. This led to a lot of anger among the colleagues in the categories that were deleted during the broadcast.
