That became apparent on Thursday at the third interim hearing against E. and co-defendant Delano G. (22). E. is present at the hearing, G. remained in his cell and is represented by his two lawyers.
Peter R. de Vries was shot at close range on 6 July last year in the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat in the center of Amsterdam. Even then he had just finished a broadcast of RTL Boulevard. De Vries walked from the studio to the parking garage in the Lange Leidsedwarsstraat.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, G. was the shooter and E. acted as a driver. The pair were trapped on the A4 a few hours after the attack and arrested. De Vries succumbed to his injuries nine days after the attack. The murder sent off a huge shock wave.
It was previously known that E. would have conducted preliminary reconnaissance. On June 23, security cameras recorded how he walked into Lange Leidsedwarsstraat via Prinsengracht and Leidsestraat. He walks behind the studio of RTL Boulevard and follows De Vries as he walks to the parking garage. When De Vries is in the garage, E. looks inside, according to the Public Prosecution Service.
