Telstar will play the last home game of 2023 against FC Dordrecht tonight. The Sheepheads are having a great season that could well lead to a spot in the play-offs. The play-offs are still a long way away for the White Lions, although trainer Mike Snoei hopes that things will go a lot better after the winter break with an empty infirmary.
Telstar played a total of eighteen competition matches at Schoonenberg sports park this calendar year, eight of which they won. Two ended in a draw and eight matches were lost. The current season the results are negative (3x profit, 5x loss).
The eighteenth place in the rankings is not what Telstar had hoped for in advance. With the impending return of the long-disabled Giousis, Polley, El Kachati, Kaandorp and Kruiver, the people of Velsen look up with hope. The kick-off is at 8 p.m. Reporter in Velsen-Zuid is Stephan Brandhorst.
Abacus
Both North Holland Young Teams will also be in action tonight. Jong AZ plays against SC Cambuur in Leeuwarden and Jong Ajax plays against Jong PSV at De Herdgang. It is the eleventh time that both teams meet each other in the first division in Eindhoven. The home team was the strongest four times, Jong Ajax three times. The last meeting was in Amsterdam a true goal celebration: 5-4.
