Ajax is at the top of the Eredivisie, with two points more than PSV. However, the club from Eindhoven will still play against Go Ahead Eagles in an empty Philips stadium on Thursday.
PSV start the last league match of the year with Yorbe Vertessen and Carlos Vinícius in the basic team. The Belgian and Brazilian attacker replaced Ritsu Doan and Bruma in the home game against Go Ahead Eagles.
Doan and Bruma were still basic players in the 4-1 win against RKC Waalwijk on Sunday. The Japanese and Portuguese were injured and are missing from the selection on Thursday.

PSV coach Roger Schmidt has left his team unchanged. If the Eindhoven players beat Go Ahead, they will enter the winter break as the leader with 1 point ahead of Ajax. Earlier this season, PSV won the away match against Go Ahead with difficulty, 2-1. Marco van Ginkel scored the winning goal in Deventer. The captain is now on the reserve bench.

Ajax – Fortuna Sittard
Ajax won the home match against Fortuna Sittard on Wednesday evening 5-0. Daley Blind and Antony scored within 23 minutes. Devyne Rensch and Sébastien Haller (2) determined the final score in the final phase.
FC Utrecht – FC Twente
FC Utrecht has only just been able to prevent a defeat against FC Twente. Mimoun Mahi headed the team of the troubled trainer René Hake deep into injury time alongside: 1-1.
Heracles – Cambuur
The duel between Heracles Almelo and SC Cambuur did not yield a winner. The match in Twente ended in 1-1. As a result, Cambuur closes the calendar year in neat eighth place. Heracles takes thirteenth place.

Willem II lost in the Eredivisie for the eighth time in a row. NEC was too strong in Brabant for the team of coach Fred Grim (0-1), which was still in second place at the end of September.

AZ – FC Groningen
AZ also won the seventh and final game in December. The Alkmaarders had trouble finding space for a long time in the competition match with FC Groningen, which played with one man less from the 4th minute after a red card for defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo.
