The men and women started the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday morning, the cycling race through the hills of South Limburg.
For the first time since 2019, a ‘normal’ edition of the only cycling classic in the Netherlands will be held again. In the morning the cyclists were introduced to the public on the Vrijthof in Maastricht, after which the men started at 10:20 am and the women at 10:35 am.

Like every year, big names are taking part. Two Limburgers participate in the men’s race: Tom Dumoulin and Mike Teunissen. In the women’s race there are three fellow provincials at the start: Pauliena Rooijakkers, Pien Limpens and Lisa Müllenberg.
