Total chaos in Ecuador: masked criminals have armed themselves with a TV studio in Guayaquil. A hospital, a university and two shopping centers were also stormed. Detainees also hold prison guards hostage, some of whom are said to have been executed. The country is in a state of emergency because one of the country’s most violent drug criminals has escaped from prison. Police have ordered the evacuation of the presidential palace in the capital Quito due to the security situation.
