LIVE Champions League: Liverpool and Real Madrid rest in a tie | Football

It is the third time that the two teams will face each other in the final of the Champions League (formerly European Cup 1). In 1981, in Paris’ Parc des Princes, Liverpool won, in 2018 Real Madrid was the strongest in Kiev.

The match in Paris started no less than 36 minutes later than planned. According to the management of the Stade de France in Paris, the measure was taken for security reasons. The organizers are concerned because many Liverpool fans were unable to reach the stadium in time due to large crowds. Some of the spectators present also entered the stadium without a ticket, which led to chaotic scenes around the stadium.

Liverpool play with Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara in the starting lineup. The three have recovered sufficiently from their injuries. Van Dijk was previously injured in the FA Cup final, in which Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties.

Real Madrid’s line-up has no surprises. Coach Carlo Ancelotti opted for the more or less expected eleven, with Karim Benzema as central attacker of course. Gareth Bale is sitting on the couch.
