The Dutch handball players ended the World Cup on a positive note. In the match for fifth place, Germany was defeated 30-26. Bo van Wetering from Heerhugowaard accounted for five goals.
This fifth place ensures that the Netherlands has a more favorable classification in the Olympic qualifying tournament. In April, the Dutch team will now compete with the Czech Republic, Spain and Argentina for two tickets for the Games in Paris. The handball players from those three countries have all won this World Cup.
The World Cup final will be played later this afternoon between France and host country Norway.
