Live blog: Excelsior – Ajax (2-2). FC Volendam loses big against Go Ahead (4-1). World Athletics Championships also started.

Anouk Vetter, born in Amsterdam, is the best of the three Dutch participants after the first day in the heptathlon at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The winner of Olympic silver in Tokyo is seventh, but more than 200 points behind the leader in the field, the American top favorite Anna Hall.

Vetter recovered after mediocre performances in the 100-meter hurdles (13.42 seconds) and the high jump (1.71 meters), winning the shot put (15.72 meters) and a reasonable 24.28 seconds in the 200 meters.

The 30-year-old Vetter has already won four medals at major tournaments in the heptathlon in her athletics career. She became European champion in Amsterdam in 2016, won bronze at the 2017 World Cup in London, surprised with silver at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 and won silver at the World Cup in Eugene last year in a Dutch record of 6867.
