With his goal last weekend against NEC, Pavlidis became the sixth player ever to score in ten consecutive matches in the Premier League. In history, only Johan Cruijff (17) and Pierre van Hooijdonk (11) managed to score in more matches at the highest level in the Netherlands.

Tonight, just after 11 p.m., the draw for the 2nd round of the KNVB Cup will take place. This means that Ajax and AZ will also enter the national cup tournament. Both clubs have not yet played because of their European matches. Of the six clubs still in the tournament, only FC Volendam is not certain of the 2nd round. The Eel Farmers still have to play for the 1st round. This is because of last Thursday’s catch-up match against Ajax (2-0). The match against Excelsior Maassluis is on November 16.
Remaining North Holland clubs: Ajax, AZ, RKVV DEM, AFC, RKAV Volendam, FC Volendam/Excelsior Maassluis on Nov 16
On a visit to Hardenberg, ADO ’20 from Heemskerk lost 0-1. Former professional Jesper Drost scored the only goal for the Overijssel team that knocked Eredivisie side Heracles out of the KNVB Cup last week. Due to the defeat, ADO ’20 is in 9th place in the second division. Tomorrow a North Holland derby in the highest amateur class: AFC – HFC.
AZ is number 2 in the Eredivisie and Excelsior is in 7th place.
At the highest level, both teams have faced each other 22 times before in Rotterdam. AZ took the points to Alkmaar 9 times, 7 times the match ended in a draw and 6 times the points remained in Kralingen.
And Vangelis Pavlidis can continue his impressive series. The Greek striker has already scored ten matches in a row in the Premier League. The NEC match, which has yet to be completed, is included.
