LIVE: ’90 percent home workers want to continue to do that’ | 1Limburg

This is the most important corona news of Saturday 19 February.

10:00 a.m. – CNV survey: 90 percent of home workers want to keep doing that
More than 90 percent of employees who now work from home want to continue to do so after the corona crisis, according to trade union CNV, according to a survey among a thousand members who work from home. However, employers ask one in three home workers to come back to the office if the work from home advice expires. “Many employers are eager to ask their staff to return to the office,” says CNV chairman Piet Fortuin.

He regrets this, because according to him there are many advantages to working from home for the employer. In the survey, almost three quarters of members who work from home indicate that they are more productive, 55 percent have a better work/life balance and 90 percent say they continue to work with (mild) corona complaints. 44 percent say they are more motivated and healthier, one in three more creative.

However, more than half of employers do not have a long-term work-from-home policy and roughly a third of employees are not satisfied with the current work-from-home policy. “The policy of many employers to work from home is grievous: no long-term vision, often no cost-effective home work allowance and the physical and mental support also leaves much to be desired, according to this study. This attitude of employers is unwise and is a waste of capital, certainly. in such a tight labor market,” says Fortuin.

9:00 am – No new cases of corona in Beijing
No new cases of corona were discovered at the Beijing Winter Games last day. Tests were conducted on those arriving and those still attending the event in China.

The damage was also limited on Thursday. Only one person who arrived at Beijing airport was tested positive. The Winter Games end on Sunday.
