NATO should reject Russian proposals for security guarantees, stated Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielyus Landsbergis in an interview with The Times.
“We do not think that any negotiations should start on what was proposed by Russia,” Landsbergis said.
He noted that despite the proposals of the Russian side, there was no talk about the withdrawal of the NATO combat group from Lithuania.
“We believe it is necessary to maintain the current status of defense in the region. And the only conversation that we would like to observe concerns the possibility of strengthening security guarantees in the region, which starts from the Black Sea in Romania and extends all the way to Estonia, ”added the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
