Norfisk GmbH is recalling the product “Good & cheap Norwegian Stremel salmon hot-smoked natural” in the 125 g pack because of listeria.
The company from Wismar announced this on Monday evening. The fish was mainly offered at Edeka and Marktkauf. Only goods with the use-by date of September 2nd, 2023 and lot number L34232531/20 are affected. It is marked with the veterinary registration number PL 20031801 WE.
Eating the product is strongly discouraged. The bacterium Listeria monocytogenes was detected during a check. According to the information, listeria can trigger flu-like symptoms with fever and diarrhea, among other things.
The salmon with the corresponding lot number and the specified use-by date can be returned for a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.
