Bruce Springsteen has released a new song. The single “Addicted to Love” is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming film “She Came to Me,” which hits theaters in a week (October 6). You can find the lyric video at the end of the article.
The piano track was produced by Ron Aniello and Bryce Dessner (The National) and features a feature from Springsteen’s wife Patti Scialfa. “She Came to Me” director Rebecca Miller says it was like a dream come true when the singer said yes to her.
“I really love Bruce’s music,” Miller shared with Variety. “For the ending of ‘She Came to Me,’ we wanted an original song… I had a secret wish that it could be Bruce, but I hesitated to ask because I thought it was so unlikely. To be honest, I was a bit shy.”
Dessner calmed her fears and encouraged her to contact Springsteen. She continues: “[Er] encouraged me to ask – he was sure Bruce would love the film. So I spoke to him. Bruce and [Scialfa] ended up watching the film and to my delight they both liked it! Bruce said he would take a few days to see if he could think of something for a song. Miraculously, ‘Addicted to Romance’ was the result. He says he was inspired by the film, which is a great honor for me.”
Springsteen recently had to cancel all remaining dates on this year’s tour after suffering from a stomach ulcer. He said on social media that he was already feeling better and was looking forward to doing the tour next year.
