Lisanne de Witte and Jochem Dobber most notable absentees from relay team

Lisanne de Witte and Jochem Dobber will not be part of the relay teams at the World Athletics Championships. The Athletics Union has just announced the selections for the 4×400 meters. Both Noord-Hollanders, who were part of successful teams in the past, have to take a step back.

De Witte and Dobber played a major role in the 4×400 meters during the World Indoor Championships. The women won silver there with the team consisting of Lieke Klaver, Femke Bol, Eveline Saalberg and Lisanne de Witte. Klaver will be able to compete in Eugene on the 4×100 and 4×400 meters. The Enkhuizense is a reserve runner in the 4×100, but is now a fixed value in the 4×400. Jamile Samuel, who won bronze in the 200 meters last weekend, is also part of the 4×100-meter team.

While Lisanne de Witte has to let the 4×400 pass, her sister Laura de Witte is on the starting list. De Witte finished fourth at the Dutch Athletics Championships. In the men there is room for Isayah Boers and Tony van Diepen on the 4×400 meters. During the World Indoor Championships, Van Diepen won bronze with the Dutch team. Dobber was part of the team at the beginning of this year, but did not make the final of the World Cup indoor.
