Swedish female golfer City Grant is the first woman to win a men’s European tour. The win came in the Scandinavian Mixed competition, where 78 men and 78 women compete for one main pot.

22-year-old Grant took an overwhelming victory with 24 under a pair of results. The difference with the second To Henrik Stenson and Marc Warreniin came nine strokes.

– I only saw on 13 fairways that I drive so much. I thought I might be three or four strokes ahead, but it was eight. That’s when I was able to calm down, Grant said after the victory

– Will I be on the (men’s) tour next week? No one has told me yet. That would be fun, Grant joked.

She was the next ranked woman Gabriella Cowleyta as much as 14 beats better. Other top positions were strongly held by men. Cowley was split 15th.

– I hope that people will give more recognition to women’s golf. Hopefully this will also further raise the level of competition for women, Grant described her historic victory.

Scandinavian Mixed was held in Halmstad, Sweden, in the presence of the Grant family on the green. Grant has previously won two Women’s European tours. He started as a professional last August.
