In a response, the municipality of Coevorden reports that the desired vitality scan of the bungalow park is indeed objective. “We have engaged the Space and Free Time agency for this,” says spokesperson Gert de Groot. “This agency specializes in the field of tourism and recreation, knows the market well and also knows a lot about the dynamics of holiday parks.”
According to him, the scan should reveal whether it is possible for Wico to have a recreational function again. “A park where people have a second home can also be vital, the researchers can say something about this in a substantiated way.” Councilor Steven Stegen promises the working group and Mrs. Lampe to accept the outcome of the scan, the spokesperson further reports.
In order to conduct the investigation, the people at the agency must be able to see the situation with their own eyes, De Groot emphasizes. According to him, a point of contact is also needed, in this case the working group. “They can speak on behalf of the owners with some mandate. That is why we want to start this investigation as quickly as possible, with the cooperation of this working group.”
According to the municipality, the intention is to continue discussions about a future perspective and next steps based on the results of the scan.
