BEIJING – It was often quite difficult, and therefore very clever how Lindsay van Zundert held up at these Winter Games. After a flawless short freestyle, the 17-year-old debutante also remained cool in the final. Yes, there were some mistakes here and there, but far away from her family – from whom she had never been separated for so long – the figure skater delivered a world performance with an eighteenth place. “I did shed a tear in bed a few times because I wanted to give them a hug. Especially my sister Fay, who I miss very much.”
