Till Lindemann and his Rammstein colleagues position themselves politically on the left, which they expressed in songs like “Links 2 3 4”. The fact that not all of their fans, including those of the solo artist Lindemann, share the same political orientation became apparent after the allegations of abuse against the 60-year-old emerged, when the controversial frontman’s defenders uttered some disgusting slogans online.
Now criminal behavior is said to have occurred on the sidelines of Lindemann’s solo concert. The singer celebrated the start of his tour yesterday, Wednesday (November 8th, 2023) in Leipzig. In front of the quarterback arena, fans clashed with hundreds of protesters who chanted slogans against Lindemann. The Leipzig police are now investigating a concert-goer because he showed the demonstrators the “Hitler salute”. A Leipzig police spokesman confirmed this on Thursday morning.
“We are aware of the scene and we are investigating it,” the Leipzig police spokesman told the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”.
In addition, there were scuffles and insults during the Lindemann concert – the police are investigating the damage to property. Nobody was injured. “As the concert began, the situation quickly calmed down,” said the police spokesman.
From May of this year, allegations of abuse arose against Till Lindemann, and later also against other Rammstein members. The Berlin public prosecutor’s office stopped its investigation because the allegations could not be substantiated. Till Lindemann released his new solo work “Zunge” on November 3rd, 2023, which he also sells at his concerts. His former label Universal Music has paused distribution due to allegations of abuse. On Friday (November 10, 2023) Lindemann will perform in Düsseldorf. Countless media criticize the fact that they did not receive accreditation for reporting – Lindemann seems angry.
