Linda de Mol receives unprecedented viewing figures

An enormous shock wave goes through Hilversum. The woman who was the TV queen of our country for years, Linda de Mol, has to deal with a terrible viewing figure. “This is a nightmare.”

Linda de Mol is experiencing one of the greatest lows of her career. Her drama series Five Live was already on the rise – the first three episodes scored 987, 793 and 670 thousand viewers – but there is really no stopping it now. The score collapsed yesterday to 329 thousand viewers, accounting for just 8 percent market share.

Nightmare

Until this week, Five Live was programmed immediately after Miljoenenjacht, but that viewership hit is now on holiday. With yesterday’s extremely disappointing score, Linda caused a dip in the programming of SBS 6. Code van Coppens attracted 552 thousand viewers (11 percent) and Hart van Nederland subsequently had 471 thousand (15 percent).

Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6, is shocked. “Huh? Scrolled back and forth three times, but I can’t find it: Five Live, the drama series by Linda de Mol, is NOT in the top 25 viewership. Only 329 thousand viewers. A viewing figure nightmare for Linda de Mol,” she says on her ratings juice channel.

‘Oh my god!’

Miljoenenjacht has kept Five Live afloat all those weeks, but: “Without the influx of Miljoenenjacht, very few of the linear viewers remain and the series is only number five of the 9.30 pm slot. omg. I think Linda thinks this is much, much worse than the 32,000 viewers for the Deep Grounds rerun.”

Five Live was broadcast simultaneously with Formula 1 on Viaplay. “But other programs were less affected by this.”

Beau on one

Beau van Erven Dorens’ program Weet Ik Veel was the big winner in prime time with 1.4 million viewers (27 percent). Tina points out that Linda’s series in the commercial target group only scored a 10 percent market share, while Beau’s program came in at 35 percent.

The other most viewed titles in prime time were Chansons with 973 thousand viewers (22 percent) on NPO 1, One against 50 with 920 thousand viewers (25 percent) on RTL 4 and Aria with 830 thousand viewers (16 percent) on NPO 1.
