Linda de Mol in viewing figure coma, again not in the top 25: ‘Five Live flops’

Linda de Mol gets the fictional Angela de Jong writing in a coma back like a boomerang in her face. She is now in a coma herself. In ratings coma. “Five Live flops mercilessly.”

It is really unprecedented how hard Linda de Mol is punished by the television viewer. Five Live is a terrifyingly bad series, but for years the viewer’s favor was so great that everything in which Linda made her appearance still scored. Well, the fallen TV queen doesn’t have to count on that anymore.

Again not in the top 25

After 987, 793 and 670 thousand viewers, Five Live collapsed last week to 329 thousand viewers (8 percent market share) on SBS 6. Numerous excuses were made, but yesterday the score was just as bad. With 337 thousand viewers (8.5 percent), again no place is conquered in the top 25 viewership.

Viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp thinks this is really lousy. “Unfortunately, Five Live’s linear ratings are not creeping up. Once again Linda de Mol’s drama series about the tough TV world is NOT in the top 25. The number 25 (the cheap British purchase De Grote Verbouwing UK) has 424 thousand viewers.”

Second season?

Strangely enough, Five Live actor Waldemar Torenstra was shouting in RTL Boulevard yesterday that there might be a second series. “There was talk about when a second season would be decided, so that’s what it’s about now and I haven’t talked to Linda about how we’re going to do that.”

huh? But no dog is watching, right? Is this just to keep Linda busy? “I am very happy that it was looked at very carefully in the beginning. I hope the weather picks up a bit in the coming days. Last time there was of course Max Verstappen and stuff. So they thought it had collapsed a bit.”

‘It will be better’

Waldemar also responds to the criticism that Five Live is so terribly bad. “I hear from the directors from a reliable source that the episodes only get better towards the end, so people should just start watching again.”

Ah okay. Well, don’t count on it. Tina: “Even in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years old, the market share is not high: 11.4 percent. An expensive drama series costs on average at least 250 thousand euros per episode. Normally, with such low linear viewing figures, additional orders would not be placed.”

Right opposite Linda’s Five Live, Beau van Erven Dorens does manage to set a top score: I Know Much scored 1.2 million viewers (26 percent).
