Linda de Mol famously refuses diet: ‘Terrible stench from mouth’

Linda de Mol (59) has tried quite a few diets in her life, but with the Atkins diet she does not have to knock on the door of her castle in Crailo. “What a stink from your mouth!”

She has her fair share of it likeability thanks to: her eternal battle with the kilos. Linda de Mol has always been open about it on her various platforms and many female fans recognize themselves in it. As a big TV star, Linda has the time and money to try everything and she has done so.

Bad breath

Linda has given many diets a try, she says in the LINDA. “Jennifer Aniston swore in zeros by The Zone and the South Beach Diet; I decided to Montignac after the birth of my children. It worked, the pounds flew off.”

But which diet will Linda definitely not follow? “Do you remember Atkins? People on that diet scarfed down whole liverwursts and piles of fried eggs. I never tried it because it gave you such incredibly bad breath as soon as your body went into fat-burning mode.”

Pass out

So Linda is happy to ignore the Atkins diet. “It didn’t seem useful to me that the people around me would faint when I exhaled.”

No, not that useful indeed. Unless, of course, you ever end up sitting at a talk show table with ‘a handful of sensation-seeking opinion makers like Beau, Rob Goossens, Youp and that pathetic, intensely false Angela de Jong’. In the absence of falling studio lights, an Atkins poison cloud can come in handy.

Trouser suits

What does Linda prefer to wear now that all those diets are not working? “Pantsuits do wonders for my figure. I have them in black, dark blue, powder pink, ice blue and off-white. From Zara, Baum und Pferdgarten, Zoe Kassen, Arket and a very expensive one from Alexander McQueen, which I will wear forever.”

She concludes: “But at home? That’s a completely different story. There were times when I kept my business clothes on until I went to bed. Nowadays I immediately want to take off everything that pinches and lie on the couch in soft sweatpants, sweatshirt and thick socks.”
