Linda de Mol was stunned on Sunday evening when she reached the preliminary round of Million Hunt hit the same candidate twice. Lia from Woerden gave the best and fastest answer twice, a very rare achievement, seen by almost 1.4 million viewers. ,,I can not believe my eyes.”
In the preliminary round, people are selected on the basis of five questions who have a chance to play the final game with the famous golden suitcases. With hundreds of opponents, the potential candidates have to answer the questions best and fastest. For the first question – how much is the average amount of a Tikkie? – Lia from Woerden emerged as the winner.
She was given a choice: did she want to choose one of the five giant suitcases to be sure of a prize right away, or did she want to stand behind a desk for a chance to participate in the final suitcase game? She decided, in consultation with her daughter – who was sitting next to her in the audience – to continue playing. With that, she saw a brand new electric car pass her nose, the price that was in the suitcase that she had chosen differently.
While waiting for the next round, Lia was allowed to continue playing: as far as we know, she has never managed to give the best answer again, with hundreds of other people in the audience. But that was without counting Lia.
For the fifth and final question, he not only guessed how many percent of Dutch young people have ever driven a car without a driver’s license – just like seventeen others – she also turned out to be the fastest with her response. Presenter Linda de Mol couldn’t believe her eyes: Lia again. “This will be your night.”
“You Can’t Clone Yourself”
Since she had already claimed a desk for the next round, Lia had no choice but to choose a suitcase. “Because you can’t clone yourself”, concluded De Mol. For example, Lia made sure that she and her fellow players went home with 500 euros, the prize in the large suitcase she chose. A random other man was then chosen to take place behind the fifth desk.
In the next round, however, Lia was less lucky and it turned out to be not quite her evening: she soon lost weight. As a consolation prize, she received a check for 2000 euros, which was on top of the 500 euros she previously won.
