Life smiled at Linda de Mol for years, but now she has become a kind of scandal celebrity. And that makes it more difficult to walk on the street. “She wants to get out of her castle!”
Linda de Mol lives in a very expensive castle in the millionaire enclave of Crailo, which is a stone’s throw from Blaricum and Laren. Her cousin Johnny and brother John de Mol live there. Linda is occasionally spotted in these Gooi villages, sometimes when she takes Ukrainian refugees into her home, the other time when she comes out of the fish stall.

But what is life in Het Gooi like when you are under fire for concealing serious misconduct? Not good, an insider told Story weekly. “In Het Gooi, Linda is anything but anonymous. When she shops in chatty Blaricum or Laren, she seems to have the feeling that people are staring at her or pitying her.”
Linda has absolutely no interest in that. “That may also be the reason why she hasn’t been seen here in ages.”
Old Crailo
Linda has lived on the huge Oud Crailo estate for over twenty years. Her ex-lover Jeroen Rietbergen said in 2018 that they would live there forever. “This has really become our place. Here we want to grow old together.”
Now that they’ve broken up, Linda is considering packing the moving boxes, the Story insider says. “Linda is hardly to be found here anymore. After the break with Jeroen, she lives here alone, and now she thinks the house is too big and too empty.”
To Amsterdam
Where does Linda want to go then? “It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Linda moves to Amsterdam. She’s been there a lot lately,” the Story writes.
Not only because of the recordings of her new series and the fact that her children and friends live there, but also because of the anonymity you enjoy in Amsterdam. “To her, the capital is now the place where she can walk more anonymously, blend in with the crowd and where people don’t gossip behind her back.”
