Linda de Mol and Yvon Jaspers screwed? ‘Both the same problem’

Linda de Mol and Yvon Jaspers are in real trouble. They both suffer from the same problem and that puts a lot of pressure on their market value, according to media expert Victor Vlam. “Sour apple.”

The longer the success lasts, the smaller the ability to put things into perspective becomes: Linda de Mol and Yvon Jaspers have been praised by people for years, but at the first hint of adversity they have turned into terrible drama queens. Angry at everything and everyone, no longer wanting to give interviews and so on.

War zone

Unwise, says Victor Vlam. He points out in the podcast The Communicados note that this is extremely bad for their market value. “One of the problems that Boerzoekt Vrouw has is that Yvon Jaspers no longer really participates in talk shows. That’s because there was a really disastrous performance by Yvon at Pauw in 2019.”

Yvon had received some criticism about a conflict of interest and could not deal with it. “She sat down at Pauw’s table and she had an awful lot of self-pity and no self-reflection whatsoever. She felt alone, she could only cry, she literally said. And at one point she even literally said: ‘As if I was in a war zone’.”

No longer on TV

Yvon has had a lot of criticism about that. “That’s of course already making you think: you’re going a bit far Yvon, this is very exaggerated, just act normal. But what made it very painful was that sitting opposite her at the table were the parents of Anne Faber, the murdered girl. That was criticized by friends and enemies, even by Jeroen Pauw.”

Now Yvon is hiding. “The effect has been that she simply no longer participates in talk shows. It’s just not her thing. She used to be there very often at De Wereld Draait Door as a table lady, but she doesn’t actually do that anymore. I also heard in the AD Media Podcast that, just like Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, she mainly wants to give written interviews.”

Awkward

And that is very inconvenient, according to Victor. “You also have to make people a little enthusiastic. Well, you can do that, for example, by appearing on a talk show and talking about what makes this season special. Just to generate some enthusiasm indeed. So that’s not possible. And that is also something Linda de Mol can no longer do.”

Linda is also very upset. “She no longer participates in talk shows since that whole thing surrounding The Voice. Because yes, she will of course be asked difficult questions about Jeroen Rietbergen: is it on or is it off? We still have never really gotten clarity about that. She probably doesn’t feel like asking other difficult questions either.”

15 percent

Such a media attitude costs a lot of viewers, Victor knows. “There is value in doing promotion. The fact that Yvon and Linda can no longer do that indicates that their market value as presenters has really fallen sharply. Would you put Linda on a new program?”

No, he answers himself. “Suppose you have come up with a revolutionary format for which you have very high expectations, then you want someone to present it who can also take part in a talk show to promote it. That gives a greater chance of success. You’re not going to do that.”

Downward spiral

Linda and Yvon will therefore have less good formats in the future, Victor expects. “Their career is really just in a downward spiral at the moment that is difficult for them to get out of. And I think the remedy for both is simple. Just bite the bullet and just appear on talk shows again.”

He concludes: “Linda obviously doesn’t want that because she will then be asked difficult questions and she probably thinks it is an invasion of her privacy. But do it anyway. I just don’t see how this could end in any other way than the end of a career for these two people. Because Farmer Wants Wife and Million Hunt? They are really on their way back.”
