In a large criminal case in Brabant about pill labs, another suspect was arrested in Spain on Tuesday. It concerns a 25-year-old Limburger.
The public prosecutor said at a preliminary hearing on Wednesday that one more suspect is also missing.
Surrender through Spain
On Monday, a Limburger (33) was also arrested in Spain. The officer is waiting for the surrender by Spain, so that the two suspects can be added to the trial in which ten suspects already had to appear for the second time on Wednesday.
Headpiece Harry P.
The case concerns various amphetamine labs in Tegelen, Lanaken, Ruppach and Kassel. The gang would be led by the well-known ringleader Harry P. from Bergeijk.
Encrypted messages
Harry and most of his co-defendants were arrested in November during a large-scale police operation at their caravan camp in Bergeijk. The case came to the fore after the police received chat messages from the encrypted messaging services Encrochat, Sky-ECC and Anom. After this, several drug labs could be rolled up. The police conducted the investigation into the criminal organization together with the Belgian and German authorities.
Summer next year
Lawyers asked the court in Den Bosch on Wednesday to release their clients pending trial. That will not start until the summer of 2023 at the earliest. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) wants the suspects to remain in custody. The court will decide on this at the end of the day.
