The football players of FC Barcelona will play again in the huge Camp Nou stadium in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Catalan team with Lieke Martens in the ranks receives the VfL Wolfsburg from Dominique Janssen from Horst and Lynn Wilms from Tegelen.
The stadium can accommodate nearly 100,000 spectators. Last week a record was set, as many as 91,553 spectators saw the women’s match between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid
The Catalan football players, who won the Champions League last year, normally play their home games in the small Estadi Johan Cruyff. Due to the success of the game against Real Madrid, the semi-final against Wolfsburg will also be played at Camp Nou. The women of Barcelona won the match against Real last week 5-2, without Lieke Martens who was injured.
VfL Wolfsburg
The home game against VfL Wolfsburg is on Friday 22 April. The return is in the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday 30 April. 30,000 spectators can fit in there. Wolfsburg already finished the return in the quarterfinals against Arsenal in that stadium last week, with more than 11,000 supporters in the stands. They saw the home team win 2-0, partly thanks to a goal from Roord.
