Lilian Marijnissen’s long-standing relationship with sports presenter Bart Nolles came to an end around Christmas 2021, but that only became known nine months later. “They seemed very happy and could often be found in the stands at Feyenoord. It has been under wraps for a long time that that relationship has come to an end,” Private boss Evert Santegoeds reported in October.

Police at the door

And that while the end was quite spectacular, according to Evert at the time. “It is special that this news has been hidden for so long, because quite a few people have learned something about how it ended. Even the police have been involved.”

Privé wrote a very large article about this at the time. Showbiz reporter Matthijs Alberts then summarized it for Libelle TV: “They told us that something went terribly wrong around Christmas in the Nolles house in Brabant, where even the police would have been at the door. That is where the relationship between Lilian and Bart would have broken down.”

‘Is this correct?’

For a long time neither of them wanted to say anything about this. Matthijs in December: “I spoke to Bart for a while. I just asked: ‘Is it true that it’s over?’ He says: ‘A lot of what is being said is not true, but that we have broken up is indeed a fact. I am very sad about it.’ Of course, that will not leave you in the cold clothes.”

Evert had a gloomy view of Lilian’s love life: “I think that after this experience, people are marking time and don’t be mistaken that as party leader she is of course also incredibly busy. Then you just have to meet someone. That could be in politics, in the famous corridors and we keep an eye on that too.”

Lillian doesn’t respond

The AD has one last weekend big interview published with Lilian and it does talk about her love life, but the allegedly turbulent end of her previous relationship is not discussed. “The last relationship that Lilian Marijnissen had has been over for a while,” the newspaper only reports.

When asked if you have time to be heartbroken when you’re in politics, Lilian replies, “It’s hard.”

You can’t just check out, she explains. “Not right now, Mark.” Haha. No, it doesn’t work that way. You have to stand there.”

Heartbreak

The AD seems to be trying to get loose: “Even if you have heartache.”

Lilian: “Exactly. Everyone goes through things that are sad, but when you have a debate, or a TV appearance, you can’t show that to the rest of the world, or well, the world, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but to the rest of the Netherlands.”

Also later in the interview, Lilian does not elaborate on the situation. For now, it will remain a mystery.
