The aggressive rapper Lil Kleine is financially not as rosy as he leads people to believe. Several media report about this, including De Telegraaf, RTL Boulevard and RTL Z.
Now that Sony Music has canceled the collaboration with Lil Kleine and he can whistle for the allegedly 3 million euros that was involved, the rapper’s bank account seems to be drying up pretty quickly. Although he continuously raps about his trade, watches and real estate, research by RTL Z to have a ‘weak-looking business empire’.
No own business
For example, Lil Kleine does not appear to have his own party café and chip shop, as he told the media. “Jorik Scholten is not mentioned in the Chamber of Commerce as owner or director of either company. Possibly the rapper has only a small interest, or he only has his face attached to the companies.”
And his own clothing line has ‘died a quiet death’, according to RTL Z. “Only a handful of T-shirts, hoodies and a shirt by Jorik are still for sale in the webshop.”
And that half-canal house he has? Fully borrowed together.
act, act
Actually, Lil Kleine has to rely mainly on lucrative performances, says Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden. “The most important thing for an artist is to perform, perform, perform.”
Jordi continues: “Of course he earns a lot of money with that, but of course he has rarely been able to perform in the past two years and it seems that the agenda for the coming year will also be completely empty. Then the wallet will quickly empty I think.”
torn
Entertainment lawyer Radboud Ribbert fears the worst for Lil Kleine, he says in RTL Boulevard. “The abrupt termination of the contract with Sony will probably mean that he will have to repay the advance he received and that he will also have to pay compensation to Sony.”
“With corona behind us in which few performances have taken place, it is of course nice for an artist like Jorik to have a large record company on hand. If all that is torn through… He will actually have to start building his career all over again.”
Not so exciting
TV connoisseur Rob Goossens also thinks that Lil Kleine is not that rich at all. “He has talked a lot about his business adventures in his music and we did a little digging into that today.”
“If you really study all those things, you’ll see that there isn’t really that much exciting happening financially. You hope for such a person that what he is going to miss with his music, he can recoup it in a different way, but we don’t really see that at the moment.”
