Defender is free
Sergio Ramos is leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer. The top French club officially announced this on Friday evening. The 37-year-old defender moved to Paris from his long-term employer Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2021 and made a total of 57 appearances (five goals, one assist).
“Wearing the red and blue jersey for the last two years has been a wonderful experience,” said Ramos. “I had an unforgettable adventure in Paris and I want to thank you all for your support and love. Allez Paris!” No decision has yet been made as to where he is going. According to reports, clubs from Saudi Arabia are trying to get the Spaniard.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi stated: “We would like to express our great gratitude to Sergio Ramos for the two years he spent with us. Sergio’s leadership qualities, team spirit and professionalism combined with his experience at the highest level make him a true football legend and it was an honor to have him in Paris. Everyone at the club wishes him all the best.”
