Let there be light! The breakdown tarpaulin that was attached to a residential building on Sonnenallee last week was removed on Tuesday.

This means that Berlin’s largest darkroom is passé.

The story: Residents of the old building at Sonnenallee 7 complained last week after oversized advertising posters had been attached to scaffolding on three sides. From one moment to the next it was pitch black in their apartments.

The responsible district office in Neukölln intervened and explained: The advertising had not been approved by the authority.

Illegal advertising in the middle of the neighborhood!

On Friday, the office of the responsible advertising agency set a deadline: remove the banner within a week, otherwise there is a risk of a fine of 25,000 euros.

The threat worked. The XXL advertising was removed again on Tuesday. A spokesman for the advertising company Back Market had previously stated that the space had been booked through an advertising partner who had confirmed that the necessary approval had been obtained.
