Liane Lippert leads the German team at the Road World Championships

German champion Liane Lippert leads the BDR team at the Glasgow Road World Championships. The 25-year-old was nominated by the Association of German Cyclists as captain for the road race. The Movistar rider, who will compete in the Tour de France Femmes from Sunday, is considered a medal hopeful.

In addition to Lippert (Friedrichshafen), Ricarda Bauernfeind (Ingolstadt), Romy Kasper (Forst), Franziska Koch (Mettmann), Antonia Niedermaier (Rosenheim) and Linda Riedmann (Karbach) were nominated for the road race in Glasgow on August 13th. Niedermaier and track Olympic champion Mieke Kröger (Bielefeld) contest the individual time trial.
