After a two -year break, Lewis Capaldi returns with a new single: “Survive” marks the first official release of the Scottish singer since his world tour was terminated in 2023. At that time, Capaldi pulled back from the public to concentrate on his health. In particular, he wanted to get the effects of his tourette disease and associated mental loads under control.
New song with private message
In terms of content, “Survive” reflects this experience of Lewis Capaldi. The song addresses personal setbacks, doubts and the struggle for stability. At the same time, he also expresses the determination of continuing despite all the obstacles. Lines of text such as “Most Nights I Fear that I’m not Enough” or “I Swear to God i’ll Survive, if it kills me to” make it clear how closely the music and personal experience of the singer are currently linked.
Impressive music video
“Survive” was created in collaboration with his long-time co-author Romans, with whom Lewis Capaldi already wrote the international hit “Someone You Loved”. The new piece also appears with an official music video that visually takes up central stations from previous years. Capaldi’s way back into the limelight is also discussed in the video on the single.
Previously, Capaldi had already played a number of smaller concerts in Scotland in May 2025. The appearances took place as part of the mental health awareness Week. They were organized in cooperation with the British charity “Calm”. The events were carried out without smartphones to give the artist space for a protected and controlled re -entry.
For Lewis Capaldi, a personal and musical new section begins with “Survive”. The song is now available on all common platforms.
