Lewandowski reports on discussions with Salihamidzic

Robert Lewandowski returned to Munich and FC Bayern on Tuesday to settle final matters and say goodbye to employees and former teammates. A discussion with sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was also scheduled. Apparently this went well.

Robert Lewandowski recently switched to FC Barcelona after months of transfer poker. As soon as the change was complete, a media dispute ensued, from which the world footballer accused those responsible at FC Bayern of having said “bullshit” about him. The bosses, in turn, defended themselves against the uncharming and loud departure of the goalscorer. Now Lewandowski returned to Munich for two appointments on Monday and Tuesday.

While he posed for photos at the beginning of the week with all the trophies he won from the German record champions, a big farewell was scheduled for the following day. The Polish national player drove up to Säbener Straße in his car in the morning. Afterwards, he revealed to “Sky”, already ready to leave his vehicle, how his last hours in Munich went.

“It was pretty sad,” said Lewandowski. After that day, however, he could continue “with a clean heart”. He will always be grateful.

Lewandowski: “The last few weeks have been a bit complicated for everyone”

Asked how the conversation with Salihamidzic was, who had previously shown his incomprehension about the 31-year-old’s statements, Lewandowski reacted calmly. “It’s okay,” he said.

“I also met everyone (bosses) there and thanked them for everything.” He will never forget what the club gave him and what he experienced at Bayern.

“The last few weeks have been a bit complicated for everyone, but that’s part of football,” added the world footballer. In any case, the last eight years would stay in his head forever.

In addition to those responsible, the striker also thanked the fans of the German record champions. “I would like to thank you for the great support, you have always been very important to me,” said Lewandowski, adding: “You will stay in my mind forever.”
