US apparel retailer Levi Strauss & Co. has appointed Amisha Jain as senior vice president and managing director of South Asia-Middle East and Africa (SAMEA). She will be responsible for the future activities of the denim specialist in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa and will ensure “that these regions contribute to the success of the company in Asia and around the world through further expansion and continued growth,” explained Levi Strauss in a statement.
According to her new employer, Jain has “more than twenty years of experience in various industries, including stationary and digital retail”. Most recently, she was CEO of the Indian lingerie label Zivame. Before that, she worked for management consultants McKinsey & Company, sporting goods supplier Nike and textile group Arvind Group, among others. At Levi Strauss, she succeeded Sanjeev Mohanty, who has headed the company’s North American operations since the turn of the year.
