Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi tore a muscle fiber in his left thigh during his team’s 0-0 draw at VfL Bochum.
The 32-year-old will be absent from the Rhineland “until further notice”, as the Bundesliga club announced. Bellarabi was pulled out of the game just minutes after being substituted on.
National player Jonathan Tah even had to leave the pitch in the first half. The central defender’s diagnosis is a bruised rib with bleeding. According to Bayer 04, the 26-year-old is hopeful of a speedy recovery.
Leverkusen already had to do without several top performers in Bochum. National player Florian Wirtz is missing for a long time with a cruciate ligament tear. The two right-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Timothy Fosu-Mensah as well as striker Amine Adli are currently out.
