Letter from Fenerbahçe to TFF – Last minute Fenerbahçe news

Fenerbahçe announced that a letter was sent to the Turkish Football Federation Board of Directors by Board Member Burak Kızılhan.

Here is the statement made by Fenerbahçe;

“In the Youtube program broadcast on SkySpor Channel on December 4, 2023, former Super League Referee Serkan Çınar made some statements regarding Turkish refereeing that should be carefully investigated.

STATEMENT FOR GALATASARAY – ÇAYKUR RİZESPOR MATCH

Referring to the Galatasaray-Çaykur Rizespor match in which he took part in the 32nd week of the 2018-2019 season Super League, Serkan Çınar explained the dialogues between him and VAR during the match and the subsequent events, and brought to light once again the chronic problem regarding Turkish refereeing with just one example.

Serkan Çınar explained that he was called by VAR for a penalty review during the match he was officiating and that the footage he was shown and the footage broadcast were different.

The following sentence spoken by Serkan Çınar in the interview regarding the conversation between Serkan Çınar and the match observer at the routine evaluation meeting at the end of the match reveals everything in all its reality.

WORDS OF FORMER REFEREE SERKAN ÇINAR

“I said, ‘Yes, sir, this image was shown to me.’ He said, ‘Okay, sir, you are right.’ But it is boiling outside. But they probably used their bilateral relations in VAR to save themselves and conveyed it to the public and the press in this way… I called the observer and said, ‘He will send me this image. “I said, ‘I’m going to end my term as a referee. At least I can tell people about my problem.’ They said, ‘I can’t, dear Serkan, I’ll have a headache too.'”

When the VAR referees of the match in question are examined, it is seen that they are the same names as the referees who were the subject of multiple applications made by our Club.

From Serkan Çınar’s statements, it is understood in full detail how the match referees influenced the match outcome by being manipulated by the referees in the VAR room.

As we insistently mention in every application, the claim that there is a group that uses Turkish refereeing for its own interests and has ambitions of designing our league is becoming a reality, moving away from allegation and doubt day by day.

“INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE STARTED”

At this point; While there are statements made by our Super League Clubs, former FIFA licensed referees and finally Serkan Çınar, it is unacceptable that a serious investigation has not been initiated yet.

Whereas; The fact that all these allegations focus on certain referees and that the names of certain referees are mentioned in every scandalous incident proves our claims.

Ultimately, we demand that your esteemed Federation take action in the face of serious allegations that have come to the public agenda in recent months, and that investigation processes be initiated by the relevant Federation boards, especially the Central Referee Board, without delay and announced to the public.”

Regards,

Burak C. KIZILHAN

Secretary General

board member

FULL STATEMENTS OF THE RELEVANT REFEREE:

‘I gave up the position and took my place. The players also object, because there is tossing and hitting. VAR referee: ‘I’m checking, the offensive player hits the ball, the defender hits the offensive player’s foot. “I control offside,” he said. Things have changed here now. The players also object, and we say, ‘Okay, guys, it happened so fast, we missed it too.’ We say, ‘The VAR referee is checking the offside, he said it was a hit, we will go and examine it.’ VAR called the referee. We went and looked, they showed me an image… I said, ‘Why did you call me for this position, what did you see in this position?’ ‘Sir, it is not that image, there is another image. They said, ‘We will show you. The image arrived. Of course, the screen you watch on there is also small. I look at the image and say ‘Do you see the theme here?’ I say. ‘Coach, he’s shooting here,’ he says. ‘The offensive player kicks the ball here. “The foot thrown by the defensive player also lands on the offensive player’s foot,” he says. ‘Okay’ I say. ‘Do you see it?’ ‘Yes’. ‘You’re sure, aren’t you?’ I say. They say ‘Yes’. I said, ‘If you see, then okay, I’m giving the penalty.’ They said, ‘Okay, sir.’ We gave the penalty. The image shown to me does not appear on the air. You know what’s weird about it? That image is not reflected on the broadcast… As soon as the match ends, the observers immediately go and get the video from the broadcaster and have a meeting with the referee on the field for 10-15 minutes. There, he evaluates critical positions and then writes the expense report. The observer came and we talked and said, ‘Serkan, your decision is correct. However, it is true that they did not broadcast the footage shown to you. “You are right about the image shown to you,” he said. ‘Look,’ he said, ‘I got it on the phone, but they didn’t broadcast it. I had difficulty getting the image from the director. He didn’t want to give it. They said, “If we show this image, we will get hurt.” I’m telling you what I was told. “I talked to him on the phone, I took him by force from the broadcaster, they told me it would be a pain,” he said. He showed me the video from his phone. We are in the locker room with our referee friends. I said, ‘Yes, sir, this image was shown to me.’ He said, ‘Okay, sir, you are right.’ But it’s boiling outside.

But because they conveyed it to the public and the press in this way, probably by using their bilateral relations in order to save themselves in VAR… I called the observer and said, ‘Can you send me this video, my refereeing will be over. I said, “At least I can explain my problem to people.” They said, ‘I can’t, dear Serkan, I’ll have a headache too.’ Later, my refereeship in this matter ended.’
