Beşiktaş President Ahmet Nur Çebi used the following statements in a letter he wrote to TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi:
We know and hear that you see the Turkish football community as a family and that you express yourself as the head of the family. And you have said many times that you will manage football with this understanding. Unfortunately, the process did not work like that and tensions arose between you and the Beşiktaş JK community. This tension was even projected as a personal tension between you and me. Even if you think that you have taken a step towards correcting this situation; Unfortunately, the ongoing process increases our existing doubts that this situation will change. The events that took place in the match we played with Pendikspor showed once again how right we were in our doubts on this issue. As you know, the penalty given is being discussed, our goal has been cancelled, VAR has not been reached in the positions that should have been reached, the positions that should not have been reached were made.
First of all, we are wondering about the source of this attitude towards us, especially in the referee community? We sincerely want to ask: Does this tension, which we believe to exist more and more between you and the TFF and our community, has a source independent of you, perhaps of which you are unaware? As Beşiktaş JK Board of Directors, one possibility that comes to our minds is that my evaluations as Beşiktaş JK President, during the process of dismissal of some referees and their return to their duties, created an unfair prejudice against myself and our community in the referee community, independently of you. Unfortunately, it comes to our minds that there may be a vengeful attitude. When asked about such a possibility from different circles, we said that we did not consider it possible, and we say so. However, we clearly have doubts in this regard and we share this doubt with you personally. It is your duty as TFF President to investigate this situation. If there is such a situation, it is your duty to detect it, take the necessary action and share it with the public. We ask you to do your part in this regard.
In addition, as the fair head of our football family, we expect the VAR records of the match we made with Pendikspor yesterday (20.08.2023) to be urgently examined and announced to the public. You have done this kind of action before, and as you said, if you are a fair manager of our football, we ask you to do it once again. In addition, we expect you to do what is necessary by examining, researching, consulting, evaluating the positions of yesterday’s match, and explaining your views to the public.
If there is a deficiency or an error, we hope that you will eliminate this error. If you do not do this, our anxiety and doubt about the future of the league and the position of our club in the league will continue to increase. Otherwise, your statements that you are fair and transparent will have no value, and our community’s suspicions will continue. We would like you to know that in case of failure, you are not transparent, fair, reliable and egalitarian, and we will continue to vocalize in the most violent way every day as a community. Even if an apology is needed for this, please come out and apologize.
