Letizia di Spagna, by now we know, is the queen of recycling par excellence. Not only does she (rightfully) wear the same outfits three or four times a year but, recently, she’s started borrowing more and more. vintage dresses that belonged to the mother-in-law, the (ex) Queen Sofia, and heads of daughters. At a recent event in Madrid she “stole” a creamy white coat worn in 2020 by her sixteen-year-old daughter Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne.
Letizia of Spain “steals” her daughter’s coat
The Spanish queen, 49, wore a total white double-breasted, oversized cut, with maxi Carolina Herrera buttons. Two years ago, however, the future sovereign of Spain had worn it, combining it with a green dress.
The former journalist combined the look in an impeccable and almost didactic way: she matched a Roberto Verino animalier pencil skirt with a dark Boss crewneck. As accessories he focused on a Nina Ricci bag.
Letizia of Spain as Maxima of Holland
The daughters grow up, the mothers age. And the same is true, unfortunately, also for the European queens. Who, however, at least now they can exchange clothes with their daughters. Like Letizia too Maxima from Holland loves fishing in her daughters’ wardrobe. She too, a few weeks ago, soon “borrowed” a clutch.
But the current Spanish sovereign more and more often draws also from the archive of the mother-in-law Sofia of Spain. Just recently she wore, remodeled, a red look that the former queen had worn in the seventies. As if to say: everything is created, nothing is destroyed.
