Movie star Mitchell Ryan is dead. The actor died last Friday at the age of 88. Former fellow actors have already expressed their sadness on social media.
Kathryn Leigh Scott (79), who was in front of the camera with Ryan in “Dark Shadows” and had a deep friendship with him, on Facebook: “He was a great gift in my life. I cherish my warm memories of his beautiful soul. My heart is broken.”
Annette O’Toole (69, “Superman 3”) on Twitter: “I am very sorry to hear about his death. He was so loving to me when we worked together.”
Mitchell Ryan was on the road a lot, especially in series and films of the 80s. His most famous film was the first part of the “Lethal Weapon” series. A cult action film with Mel Gibson (66).
But Ryan almost came out much bigger in Hollywood. In the “Star Trek” series “Spaceship Enterprise – The Next Century” he should have gotten the legendary role of Captain Picard, but then Patrick Stewart (81) got hold of it. Mitchell Ryan still had a supporting role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan died of heart failure, according to his stepdaughter Denise Freed.
