British actress Joss Ackland has died at the age of 95, reports BBC.
The family says in a press release obtained by the BBC that Ackland died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Ackland is especially known for his performances in films Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) and The white beauty of Africa (1987). For his latter role, Ackland received a Best Supporting Actor Bafta nomination.
Ackland, who played numerous roles in his career, has also been seen in the television series The Midsomer Murders year 2006.

Ackland was married Rosemary-with his wife for 51 years. Together, the couple had seven children, 32 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The union ended with Rosemary’s death in 2002.
– Ackland brought a peculiar intensity and seriousness to his role with his recognizable voice and solid presence. He will be remembered as one of Britain’s most talented and beloved actors, the family said in a statement.
Ackland was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2000 for services to acting.
